We have just added a new series of canvases to our collection of 3.5″ diameter canvases.
I liked the look of the deer and squirrel from my Woodland Critters collection so much, that I designed some 3.5″ diameter canvases around them.
I added hot pink squares, forest green circles, and silver snowflakes to the background to add more interest and give more opportunities for beading or decorative stitches. 
The flashy silver squirrel stands out against the colorful striped background.
I wanted to create ornaments that do not necessarily have a “Christmasy” feel to them. There are so many people who do not celebrate Christmas, but love to decorate during the winter or want round ornaments for other times of the year. There are also people who like to branch out from the typical red and green of Christmas colors and experiment with colors you don’t normally associate with the holidays. All of these factors helped inspire me to create this series.

Many of the decorative details used in the previous canvases from this collection are incorporated together in a “ribbon” running on the right side of this canvas.
